OOC: State of the Pups
Probably the most important news I have to impart in this SotP is that I changed my personal journal username after about six and a half years. (Last time I changed was just after the game opened.) I'm now alchemy, and I mention this mostly because I'm the admin and my journal gets thrown in the mix a lot, and since I also changed my default icon, I want to make sure folks know it's me and not some random new person.
This month has been okay for me personally, but I've not been as great with gameplay as I wanted to be. I've been a bit slow and taking my sweet time in making reqs, spending a lot of time on Tumblr because my allergies have been HORRID and I can usually make graphics when I don't have the brain power to do anything else creative. Now that we're moving into summer, I hope to be better. Fingers crossed.

Shari has some pretty big plot on the horizon, but I'm trying to ease into it. The timing needs to be right for this time loop. It'll have impact regardless, but I don't want to feel like any of it was wasted. To prepare for it, I'm trying to get in some threads with critical people—Right now she's threading a girls' night with Jess and Charlie, but I need a thread with Jacob (maybe at the election party if we don't do something private?), and once I'm a bit further into the girls' night, I'll need at least one thread with Mace. I'm also eager for her to properly meet some new folks, too, because I've slacked on that a little bit. Shari's so sociable and visible in the community, I really ought to be threading her constantly. |

Recently bonding with Snape, which is both weird and long overdue. It's freaking Sirius out how alike they are, now that he's opened his eyes to it. He's flirted a little bit (not with Snape), too, mostly just because he's feeling a bit more like himself lately and not because he's actually after anything. Presently I am wanting to work him toward a Hogwarts home plot, so I need to get more threads in with Harry, Remus, Neil and Snape. I feel like Snape is pretty critical to this, so I might start bugging you for more threads, hik, so we can get the ball rolling. I don't want to set a firm date for the plot until I'm comfortable with where Sirius and Snape are at on the island proper. |

Now that Tony's replaced his arc reactor again, Pepper is working on the design and construction of the new house. (I still vote for calling it Park Place.) It'll be much more ambitious than the last, so this may take some time. I am pretty sure I mentioned this last time, but Tony Stark said the L-word. Not lesbians. Big deal, Pepper's still amazed at this, having a giant glowing disc in her chest doesn't seem so awful now, although she's still adjusting whether she shows it or not. I'd really like to get Pepper LOTS of threads in the next month or so. I feel like with Avengers blowing up every box office record it's the prime time for it, but beyond that, she's always been rather insular and has had a pretty big jolt. Her worldview has shifted. (It's incredibly helpful not having to worry about anyone dying right now.) Banner and MJ are high on the list, but definitely all Marvels, and anyone at all is welcome. Her EP is open until the end of the month, I'd love it if you'd tag her. |

Still threading her first fear plot post, as it was posted on the last day of April. All the threads count for May and it's still open for anyone willing to backdate to Old West (I'm looking at you, Abigail). The new school term started, I haven't even looked to see if anyone signed up for any of the astronomy courses, but if they have and there's interest, I'd love to have a wee gathering post for stargazing. My main focus for Jane will continue to be fear plot, but I'm trying to get her talking to new folks and building friendships, too. I'm loving the weird buddy system she has with Priestly, but I'd love her to connect with other folks, too, so I'm keeping my eyes open for opportunities. |

Glad the island is back to normal, glad to be back to working on Cair Paravel. There's not all that much to report, as mostly I've just been trying to tag him around. (Again, I've been slow as hell this month, so I know I missed some opportunities.) I've made the decision to throw him into any appropriate party posts, so hopefully that will provide some opportunities even when I fail to tag the EPs I want to. :P Peter is the one pup I don't have any real game plan for right now, in terms of plot. This should probably make me nervous, but I feel comfortable with him, so I'm just trying to keep my eyes open for inspiration. I've been thinking about giving him an item, but I think it might be a bit premature for something like that. His 16th/29th birthday is coming up at the end of July, maybe I can do something with that. (Also, a quick note, because I think people forget: Peter looks like a 15 year-old.) He really, really enjoys folks who are a bit more antiquated in their demeanor and manners (medieval-ish especially), so if you play anybody like that, I'd love to thread them. |

Sort of has a boyfriend. Which I am about to ruin. (See below.) He's not too sure what to make of that, but he likes it. The boyfriend, not the ruination. Naturally, he's concerned about Dakin, but it's more of a vague worry now. I really need to thread him with both Scripps and Dakin at least once ASAP, because once Charles enters the picture, the shit will likely hit the fan. I foresee painfully earnest performances at the Hub in Posner's future. I didn't sign him up for classes because I was 1) suffering from allergies, and 2) felt he'd be a bit melancholy at the prospect of taking "normal" classes from someone not Hector. He's very well advanced on most of the topics he'd be interested in anyway, and my ultimate goal is to have him teach rather than be a student. Oh, and he's bonded with Magneto, which I'm sure will prove to be amazing. |

So, clearly I decided against apping Loras for now. There are several factors in play there, but the biggest one is that I have a much more clear concept of where I want to go with Charles. Thus, here we are. Provided nothing wacky happens, he should debut next month, but it might be July. I don't want to get him off on the wrong foot, but I kind of feel like I'll be making excuses for him somewhat like I was always doing with Tony, albeit to a much lesser degree. At his core, Charles is a very good-natured, friendly young man. He loves being around people. But I do have to put it out there that he has a multitude of deep-seated issues which have manifested in alcoholism, some physical abuse (see: alcoholism), incest and a near rabid possessiveness of his twin sister. I feel like after that disclaimer it's impossible to convince people he's not a bad guy, but he really ISN'T. Parts of him just happen to be fucked up, and the truth is that Camilla and Francis are probably the only people who will think him anything but wonderful, and they both have their own fucked-up co-dependencies with Charles and do things that really don't help. So, your pups should like him, he's very easy to get along with. Unless you are a dude trying to get up on his sister, then all bets are off. (I welcome this, FTR.) The disclaimer is mostly so everybody knows what they're potentially getting into should their pup become friends with him. Also, he'll be arriving passed out in a giant fiberglass snail and will need medical care. Good times. |

2. I'm LOVING the Peter-Charming thread, incidentally. As I was writing the tag, I kept thinking 'aw, they both get to be so much older than they actually look due to crazy time-related circumstances'. And once Charming's not pretending anymore, I'd love for them to bond and discuss being royalty.

Ummmmm all of my pups should thread with all of your pups, the end. What, you want specifics? Lessee - Bill and Shari, definitely, I think we talked about doing a Mom & Dad talk about Coraline before, lol. I would love to thread Sirius and Saffron, just because I think it's been a while and I like their friendship - she's getting an EP June 4 if you'd be up for tagging him into it. Jane and Aphrodite should meet, because Aphrodite's friends with Thor (or at least thread them, because they probably could have met by now?). Aaaaaand if Peter wants medieval, I can offer Imriel - his canon is the historical fantasy equivalent of medieval Europe.

And who knows, maybe both Francis and Posner will learn from this! My great joy in roleplaying (and writing in general) is pushing characters right up to the edge and seeing how they react, and sometimes they surprise me.
