[For Mace] 24 May 2012
It was only when I was standing in front of Mace's room that I stopped to consider the time. There weren't any clocks in this part of the Compound, and I'd not worn a watch. Surely I wasn't drunk enough for it to be later than 1. I leaned forward and strained to hear any sounds from within.
"Helloooo," I quietly called at the closed curtain as I tugged down on my mini-skirt. "I hope you're awaaaaake. You will be sorry if you're nooooot."

He fumbles for the lamp switch as he gets out of bed, and nudges Missy off the pile of clothes on the second empty bed to grab the pants he'd been wearing earlier.
"Come in," he calls out to Shari, as he gives Missy a look for curling up in the clothes again.

The curtains were parted with a flourish, my arms extended and hands clamped against the fabric as if my being there was some sort of big game show reveal. You've just won a brand new drunk girlfriend!
"Prepare yourself, James Mace," I said, chin lifted. "I am here to seduce you."

He'd been expecting an emergency, or maybe Shari needing to talk about something, but not...this. In that skirt.
"What?"

"I'm a little drunk," I announced as I turned back around. "But just a little." I caught sight of Missy peering up at me, her eyes wide in the light from the lamp. "Should we give her a tiny blindfold or something?"
no subject
He's probably not that far off, but there's nothing about what Shari's planning that he won't enjoy, he knows that much. The only question is why now.
"You got tipsy and suddenly decided to seduce me?"
no subject
"You've been so great about being patient this whole time," I said, expression softening. "I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get here."
no subject
Because he can't deny that there's a part of him that desperately hopes it's the former.
"I'd keep waiting if you need me to."
no subject
"What I really need right now, I think, is for us to stop talking," I added, hopeful eyes turned up to Mace's.
no subject
"I am totally fine with that," he says, leaning forward, and his eyes dart down to her mouth. "Are you sure?"
no subject
Not that kind of talking, anyway.

Shari barely stops talking before he pulls her in close for a kiss, bending his knees briefly to pick her up. It's probably a bad idea and he'll pay for it in the morning with his leg, but he really doesn't give a shit about anything other than her being in his arms.
